Texas Cultural Trust
No area has benefited more from the transition to a creative economy than the State of Texas. However, it is likely the state will need to do more to protect the millions of dollars already invested in cultural arts organizations, education programs, and related economic development efforts. In this context, the Texas Cultural Trust retained TXP to evaluate the current state of Texas’ creative sector. The purpose of this analysis was to provide policymakers and stakeholders a common framework for discussing the creative sector, its contribution to the state’s economy, and long-term growth potential. The report included a discussion on the connection between culture and the economy, an analysis of the situation in Texas, and a cultural sector employment forecast.
